Description
Spirometry is the most common of the used pulmonary function test. It measures lung function, specifically the volume and/or flow of air that can be inhaled and exhaled. Spirometry is helpful in assessing breathing patterns that identify conditions such as asthma, interstitial lung disease, COPD , Restrictive lung disease and others. It is also helpful as part of evaluation and monitoring, in which breathing patterns are measured over time for the progression of these respiratory conditions
