The Department of Ageing Research is engaged in the understanding of molecular mechanisms of ageing processes and age associated diseases.  Research carried out in this department is focused on the studies aimed to enhance the quality of life in aged individuals. The department is concentrating on the role of immune modulation and DNA repair during ageing, inflammatory mediators in diabetic wound healing, vascular insulin resistance, impeded immune activation, metabolomics and traditional medicines in rejuvenation therapy. In addition, department is also involved in providing a proof of concept of traditional medicines especially Ayurveda on different age related disorders.
