Biophysics department operates with the idea of bridging the gap between life sciences and physical sciences, integrating their analytical strengths to solve complex interdisciplinary research problems, broadening the scope of investigations. The department is engaged in teaching as well as in research. The focus areas of research are: Fluorescence and Photoacoustic spectroscopy of biomolecules, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for wound healing, Proteomics and Protein Dynamics. The department is also undertakes research on the development of fluorescence and photoacoustic spectroscopy based biomarkers for various diseases including cancer.
