By identifying the interdiscplinary/multi-disciplinary nature and the potential to develop next generation technologies and devices that relies on Nanoscience and Technology, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education established the Centre for Applied Nanosciences. The vision of the Centre is to establish a research hub of global standars through Research and Collobaration and the mission of the Centre is to facilitate advanced research in various field of Science and Technology at nanoscale that lead to the development of innovative products for societal benefit, fundamental understanding and skilled manpower generation. The core areas of research under the Centre is Nanobiophotonics, Nano-bio interface, Nanostructured surfaces for microfluidics and optofluidics applications, Applications of Nanostructured surfaces (e.g. anti-microbial properties, particle trapping and manipulation etc.), Energy harvesting and harnessing structures etc.
