Organisation profile

The Centre for forensic odontology is a collaborative effort between the Department of Forensic Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and the Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. The aim of the center is to serve as a Regional Referral Centre for processing requests pertaining to Forensic Odontology and assist in medico-legal cases as well as to build a database to identify features and traits in this part of the country, that will eventually serve in identification. The centre actively undertakes training programmes and conduct studies pertaining to forensic sciences. The activities of the centre sensitize the medical and dental personnel to various techniques of forensic odontology.
