Department of Commerce (Estd: 2007) is a well-established teaching and research department of Manipal University. The Department offers two Under-Graduation Programs, one Post-Graduation Program, one Post-Graduate Diploma Program and a host of certification programs in which 1000+ students are enrolled. Four research scholars are pursuing doctoral research in the Department. The Department aims to develop itself into a world-class research and consultancy centre.

The Department has established academic collaborations with fifteen foreign universities. Through student exchange and faculty exchange programs with these universities, the Department has initiated collaborative research activities.

Six centres have been established by Manipal University in the Department of Commerce with the objective of strengthening the research and consultancy activities of the Department.
