The Department of Pharmacy Practice of MCOPS, established at Kasturba Medical College Hospital (2032 bedded), Manipal in 2001, specializes in clinical pharmacy practice and research on pharmacotherapy. The prime aim of our department research is to generate the data on evidence based pharmacy towards patient safety, pharmaceutical care and clinical research in disease management. The department involves in primary and secondary data analysis to develop clinical evidences.  Our research   activities are funded by several governmental funding agencies such as ICMR, DST and AICTE.  Various departmental (h-index) and journal matrices (IF) demonstrates our scholarly influence. The department publishes and review articles for several prominent journals including BMC journals and BMJ publications. We have won several national and international scholarships and awards from ISPOR, ISPE, NPS, CICS, CSIR, DST, ICMR etc.  The department runs the 'Centre for Toxicovigilance and Drug Safety' established under Manipal University as one of the Centres of Excellence in research.
