Organisation profile

Department of Physics was established with the inception of Manipal Institute of Technology. The department has well-established research facilities and has a faculty strength of 19. The department offers MSc (Physics) and PhD programs. It also offers open electives to B.Tech. students apart from Engineering Physics for  first year  B.Tech. program. Faculty are specialized in various fields such as Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear Physics, Atmospheric science and Theoretical physics. The total external funds received for Research Projects in the last five years is over Rs 15 Million.
