Department of Physiology has 18 faculty members with several of them involved in active research in diverse fields.

a.       Effect of Rajayoga meditation on grey matter volume, white matter volume changes –A voxel based morphometric analysis of sMRI & f MRI 

b.       Heart rate variability in normal individuals

c.       Staging of chronic pancreatitis in patients

d.       Blood volume measurements and hemodynamic status

e.       Goal-directed fluid therapy monitoring in patients undergoing major abdominal surgeries

 

3.       Pre-clinical studies

a.       Effects of radiation on genetic changes in rodents.

b.       Effects of N-acetyl cysteine on neurotransmitter levels in rats exposed to prenatal stress

c.       Role of prophylactic and therapeutic dietary choline and DHA as an adjuvant for cognitive recovery from chronic ischemic hippocampal stroke [male and female]. 

d.       Role of dietary choline and DHA and Clitoria ternatea root extract in cognitive brain development on exposure to pre or postnatal stress, through aging

e.       Role of dietary choline and DHA in cognitive brain development on exposure to obesity, atherosclerosis through aging

f.        Comparative neurocognitive effects of Human embryonic kidney cell line conditioned media, choline and DHA or Clitoria ternatea root extract or environmental enrichment on aging mice.  

g.       Hydro-alcoholic extract of Aegle marmelos leaves and Tamarindus indica seeds alone and in-combination, in diabetic and hyperlipidemic animal model.

h.       Effect of Aqueous Seed Extract of Mucuna pruriens Against Arsenic Induced Oxidative Stress and Tissue Damage in Male Rats
