Organisation profile

The Department of Hospital Administration at KMC Manipal was the first such department to offer an Medical Council of India (MCI)-recognised post-graduation course in Hospital Administration in 1987. Postgraduates from here have been placed in various hospitals across the country and abroad. The department is actively involved in the administration of the KMC Hospital, a 2032-bedded tertiary care teaching hospital.

  • Program management that involving fiscal, material and personnel administration.
  • Research activities in the field of healthcare management (Operations Research, Clinico-Epidemiological Research, Business Research).

OBJECTIVES

  • To deliver hands-on training to students in managing the day-to-day affairs of the hospital functioning.
  • To promote research activities among the postgraduate students and faculty.
  • Conducting various workshops, seminars and CMEs.
