Research interests

Have 27 years of experience in vitro breeding for improved agronomic traits. Current research focused on laser & nanoparticle-assisted breeding, plant-microbe interactions, cellular agriculture, plant disease diagnosis, characterization of brown algal compounds for growth hormone-like activity and metabolomics and molecular aspects fruit development

  1. Kundapur Mohan and Lata Bhandarkars’ merit-cum-means Scholarship for PhD candidates in 2018 and 2017 for publication.
  2. First prize for our project model entitled “Lasers in Agriculture" in 2017 by Anveshan Student Research Convention, Association of Indian Universities. 
  3.  First prize for the Best Paper presentation in 2015 at YouthReady for "Climate Change Transformation” program organized by Indian Institute of Forest Management   
  4. Best Paper presentation award by Society for Applied Biotechnology during 22-23rd July 2011.     
  5. 2nd Prize at ISPP Zonal Conference at SBST, VIT University, Vellore, TN on 22nd October 2010.   
  6. Overseas Travel and Perdiem Award by CSIR and INSA for at 3rd International Cotton Genome Initiative [ICGI] Workshop held at Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China during 3-6th June 2002.
