Professional Information
Dr. Divya Sussana Patil is a Public Health researcher trained in evidence synthesis and qualitative research. Her field of interest includes working in ageing research and using different methodologies such as qualitative methods and evidence synthesis through systematic reviews, overviews of systematic reviews, scoping reviews, evidence and gaps maps, and realist reviews. She has over ten years of total work experience in research and teaching. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Technology and Informatics, Coordinator of the Centre for Evidence-informed Decision-making, and is the Co-Director of Cochrane Affiliate Centre – MAHE, Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), MAHE. In addition, she is a Cochrane member and a part of the Cochrane Geographic group.
She is a recipient of the Erasmus+ mobility grant to Utrecht University, the Netherlands for her PhD research. Her PhD research focused on the inequalities faced by older adults while using urban mobility infrastructures and how it affected their access to healthcare and overall wellbeing.
She has the experience of mentoring postgraduate students and PhD scholars in evidence synthesis methods, especially scoping and systematic reviews. At present she is involved in teaching, research, and capacity building in evidence synthesis and is a co-investigator of ongoing funded projects funded by WHO, ICMR-DHR, Government of Karnataka, and NWA (Dutch Research Council).
