Dr. Jithin Surendran, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at KMC, Mangalore, affiliated with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, with qualifications of MD, and DNB in Community Medicine. I am deeply committed to advancing public health through education, research, and medical services.
My professional journey has been shaped by a strong focus on public health, particularly in areas such as rabies prophylaxis, personal hygiene practices, health service utilization, and public health schemes. My work has consistently aimed to address the health challenges faced by vulnerable populations, including infectious disease prevention, maternal and child health, and COVID-19 vaccination.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in various national and state-level health programs, clinical studies, and research projects. I have also contributed significantly to the field through my publications, which reflect my dedication to improving health outcomes and access to care for all.
My experience includes working as a Senior Resident, conducting cross-sectional studies on critical health issues, and participating in special task teams for COVID-19 containment. I have also been involved in training programs and conferences, sharing my knowledge and expertise with peers and students alike.
As I continue my journey in public health, I remain committed to making a meaningful impact on community health and contributing to the betterment of society through my work.

Awards and Recognition:
Part of organising team of IAPSMCON 2024 51st Annual National Conference and also member of numerous national bodies like- IAPSM,IPHA,APCRI,EFI,IAAH Karnataka etc.
Worked as the IAPSM nodal officer for the district of Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, for the TB-Subnational Certification (SNC) initiative. Dakshina Kannada district's PMTBMBA and TB Free Gramme Panchayath initiatives are being monitored by an external entity.
