Creative Works
My creative work integrates marketing, advertising, and public health to enhance both academic and societal visibility. Through international collaborations with the University of Edinburgh and the University of Bath, I have contributed to impactful research on tobacco control, with publications in reputed journals such as Tobacco Control and Global Health. As Principal Investigator for several funded projects, I have developed innovative approaches in societal marketing and sustainable public health. I actively engage in workshops, policy advocacy, and training programs to translate research into community action and meaningful policy impact.

Experience
I have over fourteen years of experience in higher education as an Associate Professor at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, along with three years in the printing and advertising industry. My academic journey has been shaped by a strong interdisciplinary focus, combining expertise in marketing, law, and public health policy. I have led and collaborated on several national and international research projects funded by organizations such as WHO, ICSSR, and the Government of Karnataka. In addition to teaching and research, I have contributed to capacity-building initiatives through workshops, policy consultations, and mentorship of research scholars, fostering both academic excellence and community impact.
Awards and recognition:
I have been recognized for my contributions to tobacco control and interdisciplinary research through several prestigious fellowships and roles. I served as a Research Fellow under the GCRF Tobacco Control Capacity Programme at the University of Edinburgh, UK, and as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Bath, UK. I am also an Honorary Research Associate at the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru. My work has been acknowledged through invitations to government consultations, including the State-level program to develop mechanisms for mitigating tobacco industry interference in Karnataka, and as a trainer for law enforcement officers on tobacco control enforcement — reflecting both academic recognition and policy-level impact.
