Professional Information
V K Ranjith holds an MBA and a PhD in management sciences. He is presently a Professor at the Manipal School of Commerce and Economics, Prior to this He was a Professor at Manipal Institute of Management(formerly known as School of Management). Manipal Campus, India , Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Ranjith does research in Strategic management, Health care strategy and corporate finance. Presently he is working on business models of different types of firms and their interrelationship with competitive advantage. He is passionately involved with developing teaching cases.

Developing Strategic management cases. Visiting organisations, collecting data so as to develop teaching cases. Exploring new business models. Yoactiv case is related to innovative business model. Paper Seed is another case on sustainability. Coordinating Case method workshops. Attempts to develop case method appreciation among undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral students. Motivating early career researchers to use case pedagogy effectively.

Experience
Six months of experience in an accounting firm, followed by five years of assisting in managing family business and 29 years of teaching in MBA- post graduate, undergraduate and doctoral levels.
Awards and recognition:
• Winner of 2nd Runner-up Award for the paper “Antecedents of sports consumer-based: A systematic review of literature and update in the sports sponsorship context” presented at the 5th General Management Area Conference held at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, 10th December 2022.
• Certificate in recognition of the outstanding paper "The Role of Insurance Industry in Promoting Environmental Sustainability" at the 12th Global Conference on Business and Social Sciences on 8-9 October 2021, Penang, Malaysia.
