Professional Information

Dr Selim Jahangir is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Health Innovation at Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), MAHE. He is the coordinator of the Certificate course on qualitative research methods offered by the Transdisciplinary Centre for Qualitative Methods at PSPH, MAHE.

Research interests

Population Ageing, Gender and Care, Inclusive Mobility, Social Determinants of Health, Climate Change and Health, and Qualitative Research

  • Worked as visiting researcher in a project Ageing and well-being in a globalizing funded by NWO-ESRC-ICSSR at University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
  • Worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow on Well-being of Elderly in India at International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.
  • Worked as a Research Fellow at National Institute of Urban Affairs.
  • Worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in EQUIMOB (Inclusive Cities through Equitable access to Urban Mobility Infrastructures for India and Bangladesh) project (https://inclusivemobilities.sites.uu.nl/).
