Dr. H K Sugandhini , an alumnus of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal obtained her B.E. degree in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University Belgaum in 2009 and M.Tech. degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Department of Civil Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University, Manipal in 2012. She joined as faculty in Department of Civil Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, in July 2012. Since then she has served the department in various capacities and has coordinated the events conducted at institute and university level effectively. Prior to her joining as faculty at MIT, Manipal, she served as lecturer at R Y M E C, Bellary (formerly known as Vijayanagar Engineering College) for a brief period. She was awarded PhD on the topic titled Durability Properties of No aggregate Concrete subjected to Aggressive Environments in July 2024. This research was conducted as a part of MoU between Manipal University and Eco Carbon Pvt. Ltd, Visakhapatnam. Her research interests are in the areas of High Performance Concretes, Durability issues in Concrete, Building Material Characterization, and Project Management.

Awards and recognition
She received Gold medal for securing first rank in M Tech Construction Engineering and Management from Manipal University, Best Presenter Award for presenting a paper on “Statistical Analysis of Cement Consumption in Multistoried Structure Constructions” in the Two Day National conference on “Contemporary Civil Engineering Research Practices and Management” held at Manipal Institute of Technology on 20-21 April 2012.
