My broader research domain lies in sustainable urban development, with a focus on eco‑cultural and alternative planning paradigms such as bioregionalism, ecourbanism, and region‑based urbanism. Through these frameworks, my work examines how spatial planning approaches can contribute to the creation of safe, just, resilient, and sustainable human settlements.
My current research focuses on spatial circularity, exploring the concept of circular cities as a pathway toward urban sustainability. This inquiry specifically engages with small towns undergoing rapid transformation, aiming to support evidence‑based decision‑making for appropriate land use strategies that promote compact, resource‑efficient, and circular communities.
My additional research interests include spatial analytics, neurourbanism, sensory and experiential dimensions of urban and architectural spaces, placemaking within regional urbanism, and peri‑urban landscapes. I also work on urban design within Indian contexts, with particular emphasis on sustainable neighbourhoods, compact city models, ecological planning, and integrated approaches to urban sustainability.
