Abstract
The synthesis of 5-[4′-(Bromomethyl)biphenyl-2-yl]-2-trityl-2H-tetrazole, was studied. The 5-(4′-Methylbiphenyl-2-yl)-1H-tetrezole, trityl chloride and triethylamine in dichloromethane were stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. To obtain the compound the recovered product was treated with 1-bromo2,5-pyrrolidinedione and benzoyal peroxide in carbon tetrachloride. It is observed that the compound 5-[4′-(Bromomethyl)biphenyl-2-yl]-2-trityl-2H-tetrazole is recrystallized from ethyl methyl ketone.
