Abstract

in this paper, a compact partial ground plane monopole antenna is designed for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) application used in IEEE 802.11b are presented. WLAN is most commonly used wireless distribution standard for short distance network communication. This paper presented a high-gain, single band compact monopole antenna is printed on FR-4 substrate and has dimensions of 30∗25∗1.5 mm3 with a partial ground plane. The proposed compact monopole antenna design covers 2.4 GHz frequency range with the return loss of -20 dB. The gain of the designed antenna is 7.13 dB. The simulation has been done through CST Microwave studio. The simulated return loss, parameter study, impedance curve, radiation pattern of the proposed antenna are elaborated in this paper.
