Abstract
This paper presents a comparative analysis of advanced car parking automation systems, focusing on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-based solutions versus Artificial Intelligence (AI)-controlled systems. The study highlights a PLC-based Automated Parking System (APS) designed to improve efficiency, automation, and self-service parking in urban clusters. The proposed PLC-based PS integrates various components such as sensors and actuators, with sensor nodes deployed within parking spaces to detect the presence of vehicles. The system leverages predictive analytics to anticipate peak load periods and optimize resource planning, thereby reducing congestion and wait times. Additionally, it offers administrative features for parking operators, including real-time monitoring, statistical analysis, and reporting tools, which provide insights into parking utilization trends and enhances overall system performance. The comparative analysis examines the potential of AI-controlled systems to further enhance these benefits by incorporating advanced data-driven approaches and machine learning algorithms.
