A Comparative Study on Cervical Cancer Prediction using Various Data Mining Algorithms

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a significant health issue affecting women worldwide. It is the most common cancer in women. Human papillomavirus infection is the primary cause of cervical cancer and risk factors have been identified, such as intercourse at early age, more than 1 sexual partner and drug addict. Prevention strategies include HPV vaccination, regular screening with Pap tests, and HPV testing. Early detection of cervical cancer can be done by using several methods like screening method. the methods of treating cervical cancer are chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy. Despite advances in prevention and treatment, disparities in access to healthcare and screening services exist, leading to higher incidence and mortality rates among certain populations. This paper focuses on risk factors, prevention, and management of cervical cancer using, Decision tree, K nearest neighbor(KNN),Logistic regression and Support vector machine(SVM) with 94.2% accuracy in prediction using SVM.
