Abstract

A high power circularly polarized antenna with Overmoded waveguide is presented in this article. The designed structure consists of a circular metallic ring attached with two rectangular metallic strips placing at the aperture of the conical horn antenna. The designed antenna performs mode conversion (TM01 to circularly polarized TE11) and transmission of the signal. The result centered at 3 GHz indicates that the proposed structure has a higher gain of 9.76 dB and an axial ratio is 1.2 dB. It is a purely metallic structure, and it could handle the high power of MW level.
