Abstract

A highly compact (10×7 = 70mm2) triple band antenna that gives good impedance matching, radiation efficiency greater than 70% and stable radiation pattern is proposed. Multiband operation in the proposed configuration is accomplished by etching slots in the ground plane. The antenna exhibits resonances at 3.95 (WiMAX), 6.2 (Satellite downlink band) and 8.1GHz (X-band) with S11<-10dB bandwidth of about 4.08% (3.84 - 4GHz), 12.03% (5.7-6.43GHz) and 8.1% (8.18- 8.04GHz).
