Abstract

The concept of Internet of Things (abbreviated IoT) was evolved a decade ago and put into practice by industrial researchers. It came into main stream public view in the recent past years. Internet of Things involves devices to sense and collect the data in its vicinity which is shared over the internet where it can be processed and relevant action shall be performed. IoT is an end to end process that connects sensors and actuators to the cloud. IoT can make the environment around smarter, intelligent and user friendly. This work focuses on the development of an IoT System setup using low cost commodity Hardware and free open source software which is compact, portable, cost-effective and energy efficient.
