A novel spread spectrum based audio encryption technique using Latin square

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In the digital era, secure transmission of multimedia data is a challenging task. Several encryption techniques, has been developed to protect them. But unfortunately most of the techniques fail to prevent unauthorized modification or corruption of data. In this paper, we have proposed a technique which is used to encrypt an audio wave file using Latin square. Latin square is used to generate a bit stream which is used to spread the signal (plain) over wide frequency, thus converting it into a cipher. The receiver generates the same bit stream to get the original data. As the Latin square, have the property of having the number present uniquely on each cell, nobody will be able to modify the encrypted audio file.
