Abstract

Dietary supplements are products intended to supplement the diet. They are designed to elevate the daily intake of nutrients, and often considered safe as well as offers remarkable health benefits. As very little is being studied regarding dietary supplements and thus it is very essential to know about the need and requirement of dietary supplements. This review explains the need for the consumption of dietary supplements along with advantages and applications of using various traditional and novel approaches available for delivery of dietary supplements. A small part of regulatory aspects and challenges involved in governing these supplements has also been emphasized.
