Abstract
Sleep is a universal process in all species. In adolescents due to heightened activity and fulfilling academic needs, the quantity and quality of sleep is getting affected. Chronic lack of sleep is causing deleterious effect on holistic health of adolescents. Pediatricians should advice all adolescents on sleep hygiene during routine health visits and screen for sleep related problems so that appropriate management can be initiated before it manifests into a sleep disorder. Sleep disorders require detailed evaluation and treatment.
