Abstract
Gas turbine needs to withstand high temperature, stresses and fatigue loads they are exposed to, while still being affordable and maintaining a long-life span. This paper presents an alternative material for Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) of the gas turbine blade. The paper also summarizes the basic properties of nickel superalloys that are used as a base material for the blades. The simulation study is conducted on the CAD model with and without coating in ANSYS.
