Abstract
Brand's opponents transfer with minor modifications to control the instability at M.C.P. joint was tried in 34 cases and followed up for an average period of 1 yr. The procedure was simpler than most other procedures. Migration of pulley was a failure but seldom great enough to affect opposition to an appreciable extent. Insertion, stabilization of metacarpophalangeal joint and reeducation are emphasized.
