Abstract
First aid training is recognized as an effective means of reducing mortality and morbidity in cases of road traffic accidents, but the level of knowledge of first aid techniques remains low. This interventional study assessed existing, attitudesknowledge and practice of first aid and Golden Hour management among 200 drivers and police officers in Udupi district of Karnataka. Though most of the participants were aware about first aid, only 16.5% had received training before. The study also revealedthat willingness to provide first aid to the wounded of a road accident was impacted positively by preparedness and training.
