Abstract
Aim: In this case report the Importance of radiographic interpretation for the diagnosis of this alteration has been explained, which cannot be overlooked. Background: Taurodontism is a rare dental anomaly in which the pulp chamber and body of the tooth is bulbous with bifurcation and trifurcation displaced apically. In deciduous dentition till to date very few cases have been reported in literature. Case discussion: This is a case report of nonsyndromic meso-taurodontism of 5-year-old girl with bilateral involvement of primary mandibular first molars, which is a very rare condition. Conclusion: Taurodontism may or may not always be associated with any syndromes and have got familial tendency. Also the treatment of taurodont teeth varies especially in case of pulp therapy and stainless steel crown as it poses a lot of challenge to the dentist. Clinical significance: Decision emphasizes on the value of radiographs in assessment for confirming taurodontism, which might show atypical attribute, such as multiple and bilateral appearance.
