Analysis Of Dual Active Bridge Converter Operating In SPS And EPS Modes For Alleviating Solar Energy Intermittency In DC Microgrid

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

    Abstract

In this paper the comparative analysis of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter working in extended phase shift (EPS) and single phase shift (SPS) control modes is presented. The DAB is employed to act as an energy exchange interface in the DC microgrid. The intermittency issue is one of the most important problems faced by the solar energy. The intermittency can be addressed by employing a suitable storage in the DC microgrid. The energy flow is controlled with the DAB controller. The control techniques (SPS and EPS) are employed with the help of a output voltage based closed loop controller. The DAB controlled in SPS and EPS control modes is tested in MATLAB/Simulink environment.
