Abstract

In the presented article, practical control and practical waveform analysis for a dual active bridge (DAB) converter is presented. The prototype of dual active bridge is studied and voltage waveforms and gate pulses for different devices are presented. DAB waveforms are obtained using simulation model developed in MATLAB. A study regarding the differences between the simulated results and practical results is also carried out. Practical problems like ; importance of dead time, occurrence of phase drift among the waveforms and the presence of DC bias in waveforms is analyzed in details and methods of their mitigation are also theoretically discussed.
