Abstract

Blockchain technology has garnered attention due to its potential to revolutionize security and privacy across sectors, including military applications. This chapter delves into how blockchain can be utilized to enhance security and privacy within military operations. By offering an unalterable ledger blockchain technology guarantees the integrity of data, which prevents unauthorized access and manipulation and streamlines processes through smart contracts. The use of blockchain extends to identity management, encrypted communication, supply chain security and data sharing providing the military with a framework for managing information privately. Moreover, blockchains plays a vital role in fortifying cybersecurity resilience and enabling permissioned networks further strengthens the security stance of operations. However, it is crucial to consider the requirements and challenges involved in implementing blockchain placing emphasis on robust cybersecurity measures and continuous monitoring to safeguard the security and privacy of military systems. In this chapter they highlighted forthcoming trends in the seamless integration of blockchain technology within the realm of military technology.
