Abstract

The concept of pain and its understanding had evolved from a symptom-based paradigm to a mechanism-based paradigm which warranted a focus on behavioral dimension than the traditional biomedical dimension. The objective of this editorial was to provide a literature overview on cognitive-affective mechanism behind malingering in patients with non-organic pain so as to enable physical therapy implications through cognitive behavioral therapies.
