Abstract

Mitochondrion during stress experiences a considerable change at the protein level and assessing such changes may help in better understanding of its dynamics. Hence, as a preliminary study, an attempt was made to record fluorescence and photoacoustic signals of the mitochondrial fractions from HepG2 and SiHa cell lines using Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) and Photoacoustic Spectroscopy (PAS) measurements at 281 nm excitations. The outcomes of the study revealed higher LIF and PAS signal strengths for the samples from HepG2 than SiHa.
