Abstract

Today, virtualization as well as cloud computing can be put to use for the construction of the campus area network i.e. CAN. Allocation of the BW of the network is done dynamically and can be looked after using VM network weight concept enabling max. use of the available BW. In the paper, a new approach for BW allocation (dynamic) has been discussed. Implementation is done by allocating BW (average) dynamically as per number of Xen VM’s with number of VM’s stats and combining with new optimized algorithm of Linux QoS and Xen adding real-time BW use and BW is shared to achieve flexible requirements. On this basis, BW is added based on VM’s network weights. Each VM gets a min. BW (guaranteed) and max. BW. Better efficiency is obtained by the addition of weighing mechanism. Combining both gives augmented use of the available BW.
