Abstract

Fundamentals of neurology as passed down through the instruction of medical schooling say that nerves are broadly classified into three types; namely the motor, sensory and mixed nerves. But, is this truly so with regard to cranial nerves? This short communication aims at cautioning the pioneers, experts and medical instructors in the field of neurology about the use of misconstrued terminology in the basic concepts of nervous system. May be it is time for us to re-visit the basics of neurology?
