Abstract
IBM defines a “smart grid” as a network of power-generating, transmission, and distribution components that govern energy flow from distributed and bulk-producing power plants to a variety of loads. A smart grid with a bidirectional power exchange might allow utilities to include residential and business users in energy generation. To give grid components intelligence, corporate management systems send massive amounts of data. Big data analytics controls, monitors, and coordinates smart equipment using AI and ML. Smart grids make it simpler for users to participate and utilize several power generation and storage alternatives. Further advantages include system management automation, improved planning, lower costs, and a more dependable electrical system. Smart grids affect the electrical system from producers to consumers. This article reviews the latest big data analytics for smart grid connectivity advances. Smart grids and data analysis will be explained initially. Second, this paper describes big data analysis methods and smart grid features enabled by big data. Cloud computing’s use in smart grids and big data illustrates how big data and cloud computing have evolved. This research concludes with several smart big data processing methods.
