Abstract

A theoretical analysis is provided on the effect of intrachannel (co-channel) crosstalk on the performance of a DC-coupled burst mode receiver of hybrid TDM/WDM PON. Bit error rate and power penalty are evaluated without considering the effect of ASE noise on receiver's performance and also, considering the effect of ASE noise, which is the case of optically preamplified DC-coupled burst mode receiver.
