Abstract
Body composition at two compartmental level i.e. body fat and lean body mass was assessed in young college students. Body circumference measurement technique was employed for the same. Data was analysed on the basis of body mass index dividing the subjects primarily into undernourished, normal and overweight/obese groups. Such an attempt is not only new but unmasks group specific differences. Sexual dimorphism in body composition was evident with higher body fat in females and higher lean body mass in males. Results were comparable in certain respects with the data of another study that used hydrodensitometry. Further discussions are made in line with the nutritional status of the subjects.
