N2 - Tick-borne diseases (TBDs) pose a substantial public health threat in India, impacting humans, livestock, and wildlife. Despite this, due to underreporting and lack of knowledge, the burden of these diseases is frequently underestimated. Healthcare systems still face difficulties in managing these diseases even after different management mechanisms have been put in place. To address the intricate interplay of ecological, epidemiological, and socioeconomic factors that contribute to the survival and spread of these diseases, this review article examines the grassroots difficulties encountered. It advocates a One-Health strategy in combating TBDs in India. We examined the diversity of tick species, their hosts, and the pathogens they transmit, as the impact of under-reporting highlights the necessity for integrated surveillance, research, and control efforts across human, animal, and environmental health sectors. In addition, we assessed the current diagnostic techniques, preventative measures, and the socioeconomic effects of TBDs on vulnerable populations. To lessen the impact of TBDs in India, this review emphasizes the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange.
