Abstract

Norfloxacin (NOR) (1a) forms an inclusion complex with betacyclodextrin (BCD) (1c) by neutralisation method. The carboxyl function of norfloxacin is found to interact with the hydroxyl groups of betacyclodextrin present at the open end through hydrogen bonding as evidenced by spectral analysis.
