Abstract
Traffic congestion is one of the major issues in urban areas. To mitigate this problem a centralized and personalized traffic control system is essential. This paper proposes a cloud-enabled real-time congestion free vehicular path planning system using Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). In this work, a novel algorithm has been proposed for finding the fastest (i.e., less density) congestion free path using real-time traffic information. This algorithm also predicts the future road traffic density and takes into account in order to find the near future congestion free path. This algorithm can be made available as Software as a Service (SaaS) on the cloud.
