Abstract
This is an attempt at finding out the contraceptive knowledge, practice and acceptance level among women seeking termination of pregnancy in southern Karnataka. The study reveals that (i) though the knowledge of women regarding various contraceptive methods is very high, majority of them are not using contraceptives, (ii) the main reasons for termination of pregnancy are (a) the previous child is young, (b) does not want any more pregnancy and (c) contraceptive failure, and (iii) the women has no regret for terminating her pregnancy.
