Hearing loss in the contralateral ear has been attributed to various causes including vasospasm, brainstem shifts, cochleo labyrinthitis, meningitis, increasedCSF pressure and noise induced hearing loss. A detailed case report of sudden hearing loss in the contralateral ear of a postoperative acoustic tumor patient is presented and discussed with reference to the possible etiology and its implications.
