Abstract

Corrosion behaviour of mild steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid solution containing various concentrations of (2 E )-2-(3-hydroxy-2-methoxybenzylidene) hydrazinecarbothiamide (HMBHC) was studied by Tafel polarization technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique at different temperatures. The inhibition efficiency of HMBHC increased with the increase in its concentration and in temperature. Polarization study showed that the HMBHC acted as a mixed type inhibitor and its adsorption on mild steel surface was.
