Abstract

This article aims to explore the environmental degradation using different approaches and themes in environmental education and advocacy. Poetry has long been recognized as a powerful medium for expressing emotions, capturing experiences and reflecting on the natural world. Poetry is one of the most significant forms of literature that has explored various themes, including nature and the environment. Environmental poetry can be seen as a way to express the beauty of the natural world, the impact of humans on the environment and the need for environmental conservation. In recent years, scholars and activists have turned to poetry as a tool for raising environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable living. Environmental degradation is one of the most critical issues of our time. While many efforts are being made to mitigate its effects, it is necessary to consider the cultural and social factors that can influence people's attitudes toward the environment. One such cultural factor is poetry, which has the potential to raise environmental consciousness and inspire action. This manuscript shall discuss the role of poetry in environmental education and awareness, highlighting key themes and examples from recent research and exploring the role of poetry as a tool to raise environmental consciousness. This will also explore the relationship between poetry and the environment, highlighting the various ways in which poets have used their craft to express their concern for the natural world.
