Abstract

Knowledge and awareness about current concept of drug therapy in dentistry is very important for clinicians to deliver a high quality of care to their patients. Most of the patients report to dental setup with the chief complaint of pain and swelling. Efficient utilization of latest regimen of analgesics and antibiotics not only helps in reducing pain and swelling but also build up good trust with the dentist. In the present time numerous newer analgesics like ketorolac and tramadol are available in the market. This review article gives an overview of newer analgesics, antibiotics, local anesthetic agents, and delivery devices which will enable the dentist to provide Painless Dentistry.
